In positioning South Africa as a globally competitive destination that is open for business a South African delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Communications is visiting Dubai.

Stelle Ndabeni-Abrahams is accompanied by Brand South Africa where they are hosting a networking session for South African living in the region. Developments in South Africa will be discussed where information about doing business in the country and opportunities for investment in South Africa’s Special Economic Zones will be provided.

According to Brand South Africa, “South Africans living abroad are a critical component of the South African national brand because they fly the South African flag in these countries.

The visit will also be used as an opportunity to also share best practice of improving their competitiveness rankings with a view to become attractive and globally competitive destinations for inward flows of investment.
The UAE is currently positioned as a hub for trade, transport and tourism and a regional financial centre in the region. More than 100 South African companies have established themselves in the UAE, with the number continuing to grow.
